At the end of my recent conversation with Annette Vee, associate professor of English at the University of Pittsburgh and co-author (with me and Marc Watkins) of the upcoming Norton Guide to AI-Aware Teaching, I asked Annette about the other book she's working on, tentatively titled Androids, Spirits, and Chatbots. It's about humanity's history with artificial writing, and I enjoyed hearing about the research she's done for the book.
